The Ruger XGI was a semi-automatic rifle advertised by Sturm, Ruger & Co. of the United States in the mid-1980s, chambered in .308 Winchester or .243 Winchester with a 5-round magazine compatible with M14 and Springfield Armory M1A magazines. Its look and operation were influenced by the Ruger Mini-14 scaled up to a larger caliber, with an action based on the M1 Garand service rifle, but the rifle never reached production because of mechanical and manufacturing problems that were never resolved.
