The Rifleman's Assault Weapon, known as RAW, was a close-support rocket-propelled grenade developed around 1977 by the Brunswick Corporation and put into limited service with the United States Marine Corps in the 1990s. Fired from an M16 rifle, its rocket-propelled spherical munition was capable of blowing holes through masonry walls and disabling light armored vehicles. It was produced from 1977 to 1996 in response to a military requirement for a multi-purpose close-support weapon.
