The Origin 12 is an American semi-automatic, magazine-fed combat shotgun developed by Fostech Outdoors and designed by Judd Foster, drawing on the AK-based action of the Saiga-12 and Vepr-12 to achieve a very high rate of fire for a shotgun. Produced since 2013 and chambered for 2 3/4 inch 12-gauge shells, it operates on a gas-operated rotating bolt and feeds from 5, 8 or 10-round box magazines or 20 or 30-round drums. It weighs about 9.2 pounds, measures 35.2 inches overall with a choice of 9.75 or 18.5 inch barrels, and carries a manufacturer's suggested retail price of about 2,800 dollars.
