The Saiga-12 is a semi-automatic, and in some markets fully automatic, shotgun designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov in the 1990s and manufactured by Russia Kalashnikov Concern since 1997, built on the same gas operated, rotating bolt mechanism as the Kalashnikov rifle series and named for the saiga antelope native to Russia. It is chambered in 12 gauge, 20 gauge and .410 bore and has been fielded by forces in Russia, Ukraine, Egypt, France, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan and the United States, among others, including combat use in the Russo-Ukrainian War.
