Modèle 1892 revolver

The Modele 1892 revolver is a French service revolver adopted in 1892 to replace the MAS 1873 as the standard sidearm for officers of the French Third Republic's armed forces. Manufactured at Manufacture d'armes de Saint-Étienne in 8mm French Ordnance caliber, roughly 350,000 were produced between 1892 and 1924. It armed French army, navy and gendarmerie officers through the First World War, colonial campaigns, the Rif War and the Second World War, and remained in police service into the 1960s.
