High Standard .22 pistol

High Standard target pistols were a family of .22 calibre pistols manufactured from 1926 until 2018, chambered in .22 Short and .22 Long Rifle for competition shooting. Their grip angle and manual safety placement were designed to resemble the M1911A1, a pistol common in service pistol competition, and popular models included the Victor, Supermatic, Supermatic Trophy, and Olympic, alongside the related Smith and Wesson Model 41. They became a classic of NRA Bullseye match shooting and remain popular among collectors today. A wartime variant of the High Standard target pistol also formed the basis of the suppressed High Standard HDM military model used by the Office of Strategic Services and later by the United States military and the Central Intelligence Agency.
