The New Nambu M60 is a Japanese double-action revolver chambered in .38 Special and based on Smith and Wesson-style designs, manufactured by Shin-Chuo Industries, later merged into Minebea. Mass production began in 1960, and roughly 133,400 units were built between 1961 and 1999. The revolver has served Japanese law enforcement agencies at the prefectural and national level, remaining in use alongside other sidearms such as the SIG Sauer P230 and Smith and Wesson revolvers.
