Gepárd anti-materiel rifle

The Gepárd is a family of bullpup-configured anti-materiel rifles designed to destroy unarmored and lightly armored targets with high accuracy and muzzle velocity, developed under engineer Major Ferenc Foldi at the Institute of Military Technology of the Hungarian People's Army between 1987 and 1990 and entering service in 1990. Manufactured today by Sero International Kft and Bathory-Epszolg Kft, the Gepard family spans variants M1 through M6 offering single-shot, bolt-action, and semi-automatic firing mechanisms in calibers including 12.7x108mm, .50 BMG, and 14.5x114mm, with an effective range of 2,000 meters and a maximum range of 2,500 meters. Its design borrows from artillery practice with a barrel that recoils back after each shot to manage recoil, and it is fitted with a 12x telescopic scope and a skeleton stock to reduce weight. More than 200 rifles have been built since 1991, with Hungary, India, and Mali among its users.
