Warships of the age of sail, including galleons, frigates, ships of the line and oared war galleys. Sailing warships changed in form from the oared galley through the carrack-descended galleon to the line-of-battle ships that fought in fleets of broadside gunnery, and the frigate scouted and raided beside them.
