Chigiriki

The chigiriki is a Japanese flail weapon consisting of a wooden, bamboo or iron staff attached by a chain to an iron weight, sometimes retractable and sometimes fitted with spikes or multiple edged sides. It could be used to strike, entangle an opponent's weapon or limbs, parry blows or disarm an adversary, and is considered an aggressive development of the kusarigama, another Japanese chained weapon. The chigiriki belongs to the furi-zue family of brandishing sticks with chains and to the shinobi-zue category of concealed staff weapons, and some versions were hollowed out to hide shuriken or serve as blowguns. Training in its use, called chigiriki-jutsu, is recorded in historical martial schools including the Kiraku-ryu and Araki-ryu.
