Chuí (Chinese weapon)

The chui is a Chinese melee weapon consisting of a large, solid metal sphere fixed to the end of a medium-long handle, generally wielded in pairs. Its use required considerable physical strength, and it is recorded in the Song-dynasty military compendium Wujing Zongyao, compiled in 1044. Because of the strength it demands, the chui was never widely practiced and is rarely seen among later martial traditions.
