Dha (sword)

Dha is a Burmese word for knife or sword that conventionally refers to a wide variety of single-edged bladed weapons used across present-day Myanmar, Thailand, Yunnan, Laos, Cambodia and northeast India. Historical evidence, including relief carvings at Angkor, places its use as far back as the 12th or 13th century, and museum examples show it remained in use through at least the 19th century. Regional variants such as the Burmese dha and the Thai daab differ in blade curvature and styling, but all share a round-cross-section grip, a long, gently curving single edge and no guard.
