All Medieval Maces, Axes and Striking Weapons

Heavy striking weapons of medieval warriors, including maces, studded clubs, morning stars, war picks, battle axes, throwing axes and flails. A weapon belongs here when its cited article describes it as a mace, club, flail, axe or hammer-like striking weapon. It excludes swords, daggers and polearms, which sit in their own groups. Blunt and axe-headed weapons were effective against helmets and mail because they transmitted force through armor, and they ranged from the knight's mace to the throwing axes of the Franks and the war clubs of feudal Japan.
