Modern Barriers and Wire Obstacles

Wire barriers that came into military use in the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries to stop infantry and mark boundaries, including barbed wire, concertina wire and razor wire. A weapon belongs here when its cited article describes it as a wire fence or barrier. It excludes mines and traps, which sit in the explosives groups. Barbed wire fenced the trenches of the First World War, concertina coils were quick to lay and hard to cut, and razor wire later replaced barbed strands on prison, border and base perimeters.
