Panhard M3

The Panhard M3 is an amphibious armoured personnel carrier developed by the French company Panhard as a private venture for export, with design work beginning in 1967 and production running from 1971 to 1986. It shared about 95 percent mechanical commonality with the Panhard AML light armoured car, carried a crew of two plus ten passengers in a 6.1 tonne hull powered by a 90 horsepower air-cooled Panhard engine, and could reach 90 kilometers per hour with a range of 600 kilometers. By the end of its production run 1,180 vehicles had been built, which its own history describes as making it the most common wheeled armoured personnel carrier produced by any Western nation.
