This group collects the Armored Vehicles subcategory's troop-carrying armored vehicles: infantry fighting vehicles armed to support the infantry they carry, and armored personnel carriers designed primarily for protected transport, in wheeled, tracked, half-track and amphibious configurations. Its 32 members span the type's development from early half-track personnel carriers through modern tracked and wheeled infantry fighting vehicles, united by their role of carrying troops into or near combat rather than leading an armored assault the way a tank does.
