The Crusader, formally the Tank, Cruiser Mk VI, Crusader, and also known by its General Staff number A15, was a British cruiser tank fielded during the early part of the Second World War. More than 5,000 were built, and the type made important contributions to British victories in the North African campaign. Beyond its combat role, the Crusader chassis was modified into anti-aircraft, fire support, observation, communication, bulldozer and recovery vehicle variants.
