The woldo was a Korean polearm that by the 18th century closely resembled the Chinese guandao, presumably through convergent evolution from Chinese influence, though proportionally smaller. Its name derives from its curved, moon-shaped blade. Its use and methods were described in the Muyedobotongji, a martial arts manual published in 1795.
