The M1905 bayonet is a sword bayonet manufactured in the United States and introduced in 1906, originally designed for the M1903 Springfield rifle and later found to be compatible with the M1 Garand rifle as well. It carries a 16-inch steel blade with a spear point or beak point and a 4-inch handle with wooden or plastic grips, for a total length of about 20 inches. First produced by Springfield Armory and Rock Island Arsenal beginning in 1906, manufacturing later expanded to several private makers during World War II, and roughly 2.7 million M1905 variants were made in total.
