Active Protection Systems

Systems that detect an incoming anti-tank missile or rocket and destroy or deflect it before it hits a vehicle, including the Israeli Trophy and Iron Fist. A weapon belongs here when its cited article describes it as an active protection system. It excludes passive armor. Such systems sense the radar or optical signature of an approaching missile or rocket-propelled grenade and fire a counter-projectile or explosive burst to defeat it, adding a layer of protection to armor plate for tanks and light vehicles.
