FM 24/29 light machine gun

The FM 24/29 is a French 7.5x54mm light machine gun built by the Manufacture d Armes de Chatellerault, designed from 1920 to 1924 by Lieutenant Colonel Reibel with the chief armorer Chosse, and put into production in July 1925 as the standard machine gun of the French Army. It began as the FM 1924, meant to replace the troubled Chauchat, and was modified in 1929 to fire a safer cartridge after training accidents. It featured a folding bipod and a top mounted 25 round magazine with separate triggers for semi and fully automatic fire, and French gendarmerie units kept using it into the early 2000s.
