M1919 Browning Machine Gun

The M1919 is an air-cooled, .30 caliber medium machine gun designed by John M. Browning as a lighter, air-cooled development of the water-cooled machine gun the United States had fielded in the First World War. Introduced in 1919, it weighed about 31 pounds in its common M1919A4 configuration with a 24 inch barrel, and variants included ground, vehicle-coaxial, and aircraft versions, the last chambered as the .30 AN/M2. American and allied forces used it through the Second World War, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and other Cold War era conflicts, making it one of the most widely fielded machine guns of the twentieth century.
