Operation Solomon was a covert Israeli airlift over 36 hours on 24-25 May 1991 that transported approximately 14,325 Ethiopian Jews from Addis Ababa to Israel amid political collapse in Ethiopia. Thirty-five Israeli Air Force and El Al aircraft, including modified Boeing 747s, flew nonstop round trips; one El Al 747 carried a record 1,088 passengers, including babies born during the flight.
