R-17 Elbrus

The R-17 Elbrus, known to NATO as the SS-1C Scud-B, is a Soviet tactical ballistic missile built by the Votkinsk Machine Building Plant and derived from the earlier R-11 Zemlya, entering service in 1962. The most prolifically launched of the Scud-designated missiles, it was produced in a run estimated at 7,000 between 1960 and 1987, operated by 32 countries, manufactured in four countries outside the Soviet Union, and reverse-engineered by North Korea as the Hwasong-5.
