The Misagh-2, also known as Mithaq-2, is an Iranian man-portable infrared guided surface-to-air missile system and the successor to the Misagh-1, believed to be an Iranian derivative of the Chinese QW-1M man-portable air defense system and roughly comparable to the Soviet SA-18 Grouse. Manufactured by the Shahid Shah Abhady Industrial Complex since it was introduced in 2005, the missile weighs 12.74 kilograms, measures about 1.5 meters long, carries a 1.42 kilogram high explosive warhead, has an operational range of 6 kilometers and a flight ceiling of 5 kilometers, reaches speeds of about 850 meters per second, and uses infrared fire and forget guidance.
