Starburst is a British man-portable surface-to-air missile developed by Shorts Missile Systems of Belfast, first test-fired in 1986 and accepted into British service in 1989 before entering active use in 1990, including deployment in the 1991 Gulf War. It can be fired from a single shoulder launcher or from vehicle-mounted systems such as the Lightweight Multiple Launcher.
