Armed Forces and Units

This section is the top-level band for standing armed forces and named military units: armies, navies, regiments and the organized bodies that fight, rather than the individual engagements they fight in. A visitor here is looking for a force's own organization, founding and country of origin, not the wars or battles it took part in, which are reached from a force's entry through its own fought-in and part-of edges rather than listed here directly.
