The TT-33 is a semi-automatic pistol designed by Fedor Tokarev and adopted by the Soviet armed forces in 1931 as the Tula-Tokarev Model 1930, based on a simplified adaptation of John Browning design. Chambered for the 7.62x25mm Tokarev cartridge, roughly 1.7 million were manufactured in the Soviet Union between 1930 and 1955, and the design was produced under license or copied in numerous other countries. It served as the standard Soviet sidearm through the Second World War before being replaced by the Makarov pistol.
