The RGS-50M is a smoothbore, single-shot, break-action 50mm grenade launcher made by the Degtyaryov Plant in Russia. Development began in the mid-1980s as the original RGS-50, entering initial production in the late 1980s before the modernized RGS-50M variant, which added a folding foregrip, appeared in the 1990s and remains in production today. It is intended mainly for less-lethal riot-control and door-breaching use by law enforcement but is also capable of firing lethal projectiles, and Russias Ministry of Interior placed orders for it as recently as 2014.
