The T112 is a Taiwanese AR-15 pattern assault rifle built by the 205th Armory to succeed the T91 in Taiwanese service, designed in 2020, first shown publicly at the September 2023 Taipei Aerospace and Defense Technology Exhibition, and put into mass production in 2024 after combat readiness testing concluded in November 2023. It fires 5.56x45mm NATO from STANAG magazines through a gas-operated rotating bolt action, weighs 3.5 kilograms, has an effective range of 600 meters, and offers safe, single, two round burst, and fully automatic fire. Taiwan's armed forces have ordered more than 25,000 rifles of an eventual planned total of 86,114, issued with red dot sights, magnified optics, laser illuminators, and flashlights.
