The Webley Longspur is an early British percussion revolver patented in 1853, the first revolver produced by the Webley and Son gunmaking firm that later became the famous Webley company. It was an open-frame, five-shot, single-action design chambered for a .455 caliber round, built to compete against the established Colt and Adams revolvers of the day. Roughly 2,000 were produced between 1853 and 1865, and the design remained in service use through about 1867.
