This is a child group of Pistols and Revolvers, collecting the Small Arms And Sidearms subcategory's revolving-cylinder handguns: single-action and double-action service and pocket revolvers, top-break and self-extracting designs, percussion-era revolvers predating cartridge ammunition, and specialty revolvers such as a gas-seal design and a revolver-family entry covering multiple related models. The 31 members span from black-powder percussion revolvers through modern double-action service revolvers, unified by the revolving cylinder that distinguishes this mechanism from the magazine-fed semi-automatic pistols classified in the sibling group. A revolver-cylinder shotgun and a revolver-cylinder grenade launcher are classified by their shell or launcher role instead, under this atlas's Shotguns and Other Small Arms and Personal Weapons groups respectively, since their bore and ammunition set them apart from a handgun despite the shared cylinder mechanism.
