The Rock Island Armory 1911 series is a line of single action, recoil operated semi automatic pistols built as derivatives of the United States military's M1911A1, which served as the standard American service pistol from 1911 to 1985. The pistols are manufactured by Armscor in the Philippines, which acquired the Rock Island Armory brand in 1985 and distributes the line in the United States through Armscor USA in Pahrump, Nevada, making it today the world's largest single producer of M1911 pattern pistols. Made from ordnance grade chromoly steel with full parts compatibility to the original United States government specification, the series is chambered primarily in .45 ACP with variants also offered in 10mm Auto, .40 S&W, .38 Super, 9mm and .22 TCM, and is positioned as an entry level option in the 1911 pistol market.
