Doctrines formed from 1775 through 1944, before this atlas own Contemporary split begins: Napoleonic France doctrine of decisive battle, the doctrines of the French Third and Fourth Republics, Nazi Germany Blitzkrieg and the Soviet Union deep battle doctrine. Belongs here: a named doctrine formed in the age of national or mass-conscript warfare through 1944. Does not belong here: a doctrine formed in 1945 or later, which belongs to Contemporary instead, and a single weapon system a doctrine was built around, which is a weapon-system entity.
