Weapons fielded roughly 1500 to 1774: muzzle-loading flintlock muskets and sidearms, smoothbore artillery, and the Ottoman Empire's own gunpowder-era weapons. Belongs here: a hand or crew-served gunpowder weapon fielded before the age of mass national conscription. Does not belong here: an industrial-era weapon fielded by a nineteenth or twentieth century national force, which belongs to Modern.
