The 2S7 Pion, later upgraded as the 2S7M Malka, is a Soviet self-propelled 203 mm cannon built with a chassis from the Kirov Factory in Saint Petersburg and a gun and mount from the Titan-Barrikady plant in Volgograd. It entered service in 1976, with production estimates ranging from about 250 to as many as 1,000 units distributed among former Soviet states after 1991; it carries a crew of fourteen, weighs about 46,500 kilograms, and can reach 47.5 kilometers with rocket-assisted projectiles. It remains in service with Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, North Korea, Angola and Georgia.
