The Accuracy International Arctic Warfare is a family of bolt-action sniper rifles produced by the British firm Accuracy International for military, special forces and law enforcement use. The line grew out of the company PM, or Precision Marksman, rifle, which the British Army adopted as the L96A1 after a competition against the Parker-Hale Model 85. The Arctic Warfare designation marks an upgraded version of the PM with cold weather features such as de-icing provisions, and it was offered in 7.62x51mm NATO and 5.56x45mm NATO forms. Many variants descend from it, among them folding-stock, police, suppressed and covert versions, magnum models and a .50 caliber model, and several countries issue it under their own designations, including the Swedish Psg 90 and the Australian SR-98. Military Factory describes the related L96 as adopted by other forces worldwide.
