The Aggregat series was a family of ballistic missile designs developed by a Nazi Germany army research program between 1933 and 1945, with development centered at Kummersdorf and later Peenemunde. The program produced designs numbered A1 through A12, and its greatest success was the A4, better known as the V-2 rocket, which became the first ballistic missile used in warfare and the first projectile to reach outer space.
