The AGM-176 Griffin is a lightweight precision guided munition developed by Raytheon that can be employed either as a rocket powered air to surface or surface to surface missile or dropped from the air as a small guided bomb. Built with a relatively small warhead for irregular warfare where minimizing collateral damage matters, it entered service in 2008 and was used by United States forces during the war in Afghanistan, guided by laser, GPS, or inertial navigation.
