Akash is an Indian medium-range mobile surface-to-air missile system developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation, with Army and Air Force variants produced by Bharat Dynamics Limited and Bharat Electronics Limited. It can target aircraft up to 45 kilometers away and can engage fighter jets, cruise missiles and air-to-surface missiles, and it serves with the Indian Army and Indian Air Force as well as, under the name Lusan, with Armenian forces.
