The AS-90, officially Gun Equipment 155 mm L131 and named for Artillery System for the 1990s, is a British armoured self-propelled howitzer built by Vickers Shipbuilding and Engineering Limited. It fires standard charges to about 24.7 kilometers with a 39-calibre barrel or 30 kilometers with a 52-calibre barrel, entered British Army service in 1992, and 179 were produced between 1992 and 1995 at a cost of 300 million pounds. The British Army retired the type and by 2025 had donated all 68 of its remaining vehicles to Ukraine.
