The Astra A-100 is a Spanish double-action and single-action semi-automatic pistol made by Astra-Unceta y Cia SA from 1990 to 1997. It was distributed in the United States by European American Armory, and Springfield Armory imported it under the name Panther. The pistol was offered in 9x19mm Parabellum, .40 S&W and .45 ACP, with magazines holding 17, 13 or 9 rounds respectively. It is a further development of the earlier A-80 and A-90 models, and the A-80 was originally patterned after the SIG P220. The A-100 is recoil-operated with a locked breech and Browning-style linkless locking; it has no manual safety, relying on a long, heavy double-action trigger pull together with a decocking lever, a firing pin block and a hammer safety. The A-series pistols were submitted unsuccessfully for Spanish military contracts from the 1970s, and the Lebanese Forces political party listed the A-100 among the pistols its members used.
