Chengdu J-10

The Chengdu J-10, known in Chinese service by the name Menglong, or Vigorous Dragon, is a Chinese single-engine, multirole fighter aircraft with a delta wing and canard configuration, designed by the Chengdu Aircraft Design Institute and built by Chengdu Aircraft Corporation, first flying in March 1998 and entering operational service with the People's Liberation Army Air Force around 2004 to 2006. Equipped with modern avionics including a holographic head-up display and, in later J-10B and J-10C variants, improved radar and engines, the aircraft has been produced in numbers exceeding 600 by the mid-2020s, making it one of the most numerous fighters in Chinese service. Pakistan became the type's first export customer, taking delivery of the J-10CE variant beginning in 2022, and it is fielded there alongside other Chinese-made combat aircraft.
