CJ-10 (missile)

The CJ-10, whose name means Long Sword 10, is a second-generation Chinese land-attack cruise missile derived from the Soviet Kh-55 missile, reportedly built by the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Third Academy together with the China Haiying Electro-Mechanical Technology Academy. Western media and analysts initially identified it as the DH-10, a designation the United States Department of Defense used through 2011 before shifting to CJ-10 from 2012, and both names still appear interchangeably in some publications. Analysts differ on how it relates to the Chinese Hongniao missile family: the Center for Strategic and International Studies places the CJ-10 within the Hongniao series, while analyst Ian Easton considers it identical to the HN-2 and regards the HN-3 as a distinct DH-10A variant.
