Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked)

The Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked), known as CVR(T), is a family of armoured fighting vehicles developed in Britain during the 1960s by Alvis and accepted into British Army service in 1970, with first production vehicles completed in 1971 and initial delivery in January 1972. Designed originally to replace the Alvis Saladin armoured car, the small, highly mobile, air transportable vehicles share common automotive components and suspension, with aluminium armour chosen to keep weight down, and the family includes reconnaissance, anti-tank, personnel carrier, ambulance, command, and recovery variants.
