The K3 is a South Korean light machine gun developed by the Agency for Defense Development and manufactured by Daewoo Precision Industries, the third indigenous South Korean firearm design after the K1 and K2 rifles. Chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO, it entered service in 1989 to replace the M60 machine gun in frontline units, offering lighter weight and ammunition compatibility with other Korean service rifles, and was itself succeeded by the SNT Motiv K15 in 2022.
