The FN Five-seven is a semi-automatic pistol designed and manufactured by FN Herstal in Belgium, developed between 1993 and 1998 and chambered for the 5.7 by 28 millimeter cartridge the company created alongside it. It entered service around 2000 and has since been adopted by more than forty military and police forces in over twenty countries. It has seen use in the War in Afghanistan, the 2003 to 2004 Indonesian offensive in Aceh, the Mexican drug war and the Libyan Civil War.
