The G7a was a German steam-powered torpedo introduced by the Kriegsmarine in 1934, burning decaline fuel in a wet-heater engine to reach 7,500 meters at 40 knots. It was the standard torpedo for German U-boats and surface torpedo vessels from 1934 until the end of the Second World War, though electric torpedoes began supplementing it from 1942 onward.
