The GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast, known informally as the Mother of All Bombs, is a large-yield conventional bomb developed for the United States military by Albert L. Weimorts Jr. of the Air Force Research Laboratory and first tested in 2003. It saw its first combat use on 13 April 2017, when the United States Air Force dropped one on an Islamic State facility in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan; only 15 have been built, at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant in Oklahoma.
