The HQ-16 is a Chinese medium-range surface-to-air missile system developed by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, part of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. It is derived from earlier versions of the Russian Buk missile system and carries the NATO reporting name CH-SA-16.
